What are Dedicated Servers?

When we speak of hosting web servers, there are three basic types - shared website hosting web servers, VPS (private virtual hosting servers) and dedicated servers. Shared hosting servers host multiple clients and hence the resources per user account are restricted, virtual private server accounts offer more configuration freedom, but also influence other private virtual servers on the hardware node if used heedlessly, and dedicated servers offer you the opportunity to perform everything you desire without messing with anyone else.

Why would you need a dedicated server?

Dedicated servers are normally much more high-priced than shared web hosting servers or private virtual servers. Why would anyone, then, want to use them? The answer is quite simple. If your corporation has a large-scale web page, or just has very explicit web server configuration requirements, the most relevant option would be a dedicated server. For someone who is willing to invest in safety and stability, the bigger price is not a problem. You receive full server root privileges and can utilize 100 percent of the physical server's system resources without anyone else sharing these resources and intervening with your websites.

Hardware configurations

The hardware configurations offer different types of processors, a different number of cores, different RAM and disk drive sizes and different web traffic quotas. You can select a hosting Control Panel, which is a handy graphical user interface if you wish to utilize the dedicated hosting web server for hosting purposes only and choose not to use a Secure Shell terminal for all the modifications you will be making. The web hosting CP of your choice

If you are a self-confident Linux OS user (our web hosting servers are powered by Linux or other Unix-based Operating Systems), you could manage your dedicated server through a Secure Shell client exclusively. That, however, could be inconvenient, particularly if you wish to grant full root access to somebody else who has less technical experience than yourself. That is why having Control Panel software pre-installed is a clever idea. The Hepsia Control Panel software tool that we provide does not offer full root-level access and is mainly appropriate for someone who owns many web pages that devour a lot of resources, but would like to manage the sites, databases and e-mailbox accounts via a user-friendly hosting CP. The DirectAdmin and cPanel web hosting CPs, on the other hand, grant full root-level access and include three access levels - root, reseller and user. If you plan to resell web hosting packages rather than utilizing the server solely for yourself, you should choose one of these two.

Server monitoring and backup procedures

Last but not least, there is the matter of monitoring the dedicated server and of backing it up. In the event of a predicament with your dedicated web hosting server, such as an unresponsive Apache or a network outage, it is good to have some kind of monitoring platform enabled.
